These pictures were taken during the Australia Day celebration 26 January. Sydneysiders were able to take a ride through the city as you would have 40 years ago. Every year, as part of the Australia Day celebration, a fleet of Vintage buses from the Sydney Bus Museum operates a route through the city, it was a unique and fun experience for the young and old alike. My daughter and I enjoy the free ride at the top deck of the green double decker bus; it is a great opportunity to enjoy the charm of this transport and the city view.

These buses have been restored and now housed at the Sydney Bus Museum at Old Tempe tram shed, Gannon St., Tempe.

The body design of these single deck buses closely resemble the style of American buses of the 1950's and 1960's. Various Hollywood movies and TV series made at that time, depicted similar style vehicles in street scenes.
