Laughter helps us to release lots of stresses of daily life, so wouldn't you think it should almost be compulsory to laugh at least 100 times a day? There are many theories and study on why laughter provides so many health benefits, these findings might help you in one way or another, here are some of them.

1. Laughing releases endorphins.

Endorphins are a natural pain killer, stimulate the lymphatic system, boost the immune system and reduce the levels of stress by 50% in just minutes.

2. Laughing lowers blood pressure

Although your blood pressure increases while laughing, regular bouts provides a kind of physical workout that creates healthy blood pressure. It works your diaphragm as well as a number of key muscles.

3. Laughing gives you a natural feel-good high

Have you noticed how a long, a hard laugh gives you an emotional release that leaves you feeling revitalized? That warm mood you get from laughing also creates a positive attitude, putting problems in perspective and enabling you to tackle them more calmly

4. Get fit by laughing

A good belly laugh burns calories and is equal to an aerobic exercise workout. Frequent laughter is a proven way to strengthen and tone your abdominal muscles too

5. Nourishes your brain

Laughter helps keep your brain alert and active. It also stimulates both sides of the brain. Some researchers feel this improves your ability to retain information

6. You get ill less often

Whether it is the relaxing effect of laughter with its feel-good effect, or the reduction in stress hormones, regular laughter seems to improve the immune system by producing more antibodies.

How do you build your laughter in your life?

  1. Set aside "funny time' each day. Why not use some of your break time to read a comic book, humorous book or read a joke book and have a chuckle.
  2.  Smile. This might sound corny but apparently even a forced smile is better for you than a frown. Many laughter workshops use a loud group 'smile and laughter" session as part of their exercises.
  3.  Laugh with others. Watching a funny movie or sharing jokes with friends is a great mood elevator. Laughter has a contagious effect that makes you feel great.
  4. Hang out with people who appreciate fun. It makes sense that you are happier if you surround yourself with happy rather than unhappy people.
  5. Look on the bright side of life. There is nothing wrong with having a laugh than a cry the next time you hit a hurdle.
  6. Find time to watch happy things. The joy you feel from watching a beautiful sunset, a playful dog or a great feel movie can definitely lift your spirit. Check some funny videos on YouTube.

Laughter is such a positive thing, when we are laughing we are not thinking negatively. And as the saying goes, "Laughter is the best medicine." and I don't know who said this but they are not wrong when they quote :

"What soap is to the body, laughter is to the soul."

Try to laugh for fun and relaxation! It's a great way to release stress!
