There are many reasons why some party goers prefer not to indulge in alcohol. It could be for religious or health reasons. There are also occasions when a party guest might be on some medication that does not combine safely with alcohol.

With non-alcoholic drinks, as with any other drink, the secret is to find a good balance between sweetness and acidity. This is why Coca-Cola was such universal success. Jungle Cooler
Most fruit juices combine very well to form interesting new flavor combination. This one is designed to capture the wild exotic character of a tropical jungle.
- Crushed ice
- Four parts pineapple juice
- Two parts fresh orange juice
- One part passion fruit squash (cordial)
- One part coconut milk
Place cup of crushed ice in a cocktail shaker and add the fruit juices as well as the coconut milk. Shake well to mix and then strain into a tall glass. Garnish with a slice of pineapple.
Virgin Mary
This drink is a Bloody Mary rendered innocent by the absence of alcohol.
You will need the following:
- Ice cubes
- One can of tomato cocktail
- A small measure of lemon juice
- A dash of Tabasco sauce per glass
- A dash of Worcestershire sauce per glass
- Celery salt to taste
- Pepper
- A celery stick
Place some ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and add the tomato cocktail and lemon juice. Add the seasoning as required and shake well. Strain into a tall glass and serve with the celery stick as a stirrer.
Orange Fizz
The quantities can be varied according to the sweetness of the orange juice. If your mixture is too acidic, add a little sugar to correct the balance.
- Ice cubes
- One part fresh lime juice
- One part fresh lemon juice
- Five parts fresh orange juice
- Soda water
- Sugar to taste (if needed)
Place four ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and add the three fruit juices. Shake well an strain into a tall glass. Top up with soda water and add a touch of sugar if it is too tart. Serve ungarnished.
Black Coe
This is cocktail also called “Cola Special”
- Two scoops of vanilla ice cream
- A bottle of root beer or cola
Lace the ice cream in a highball glass, add the root beer or cola and stir gently. Serve with a straw as well as a long spoon.

Mocha Slush

- 4-6 crushed ice cubes
- 2 measures coffee syrup
- 1 measure chocolate syrup
- 4 measures milk
- Grated chocolate to decorate
Put the crushed ice cubes into a blender and add the coffee syrup, chocolate syrup and milk. Blend until slushy. Pour into ta chilled goblet and sprinkle with grated chocolate.

Sparkling apple juice is a popular non-alcoholic ingredients because it adds flavor and colour, as well as fizz. This one is refreshing !
You will need:
- 4-6 cracked ice cubes
- 1 measure apricot juice
- 1 measure lemon juice
- 2 measure sparkling apple juice
- twist of lemon peel, to decorate
How to :
- Put the cracked ice cubes into a mixing glass. Pour the apricot juice, lemon juice and apple juice over the ice and stir well.
- Strain into a chilled highball glass and decorate with lemon twist.
