Animal phobia is a fear caused by the presence or thought of a specific animal that poses little or no danger at all. Phobias about animals are very common, there are a lot of people who have fears even to domesticated animals like dogs and cats, it is even harder for them because there are so many of these animals around.
Some people are even convinced that they will have a panic attack if they ever see a film or see these creatures on TV or just even looking at pictures. Some people who would not even touch a book with pictures of snakes or frogs on it.

I'm scared of pigs and my sis is scared of spiders.
i'm afraid of horses, snakes, and birds (and clowns and people touching my neck even though the second one doesn't have a name all the others do)
I'm afraid of spiders, the tiny stingy animals so disgusting it seems like i m gonna eaten by them so i have arachnophobia!!!!!!!!!
I'm TERRIFIED of frogs! Like literally if my boyfriend comes near me with a frog, I scream & cry, and almost pass out. It's horrible. :/

Learning about phobias and anxiety disorders in class now. You hit it on the head ("Animal phobia is a fear caused by the presence or thought of a specific animal that poses little or no danger at all. "): animal phobias - which are a subset of specific phobias - are "a marked or persistent fear that is excessive or unreasonable cued by the presence or anticipation of a specific object or situation."
About 90-95% of people with animal phobias are female. There are A LOT of theories as to why, but the sociocultural theory suggests that women (who are the most frequent sufferers of ALL anxiety disorders - except OCD, which is almost equally prevalent among the sexes) are conditioned to be afraid of their environment, while boys are encouraged to explore and "be boys."
I don't have any animal phobias, but I am kind of afraid of heights. I'm conquering this by doing indoor rock climbing! Exposure therapy is one of the most - if not the most - effective treatment for specific phobias.

I have a phobia of spiders, but mostly daddy long legs and its crazy because everyone tells me that they can not hurt you but i have no idea why i am so scared of them. Everytime i see a spider i start crying uncontrollably and start having like a panic attack and whenever i see a daddylong leg i also start crying but even when the daddylong leg is gone it is very, very hard for me to go in the place where the daddy long leg was..
i am petrified of chickens ! they are the most ugliest looking things in the world they make me cringe talking about them. when i hear a chicken noise i cry its crazzzy :| ewwww chickens :|:|:|

Some of you do not have phobias. Phobias means you are scared of them. You are not afraid of worms if you do not touch their pictures or look at them or imagine things moving. Its just the vey thought of worms disgusts you.
@Rosanna Seems like your dog has some trust issues with you. Try not to approach her. Find a way to get her to approach you. And when did you get her? Was she from a puppy mill? Was she neglected and taken away? These could be causes of her behavior. I would suggest taking her to your vet to know more. And if you want to touch her, make sure she knows you are doing it.
I'm afraid of lizarda and frogs
It really isn't me that is afraid of animals. My dog is extremely afraid of getting kicked even though we would never hurt her. I really don't know what to do...if i could just get a little help!
I am scared to death of sea creatures - things like eels, sharks, whales, sting rays especially, octopus, and squid. They scare me to death. Just thinking about them is enough to make me feel sick. I'm not sure why I dislike them so much, maybe because they all look terrifying? I don't know. But I hate them.
I'm absolutely terrified of Moth's. It's hard to leave my house at night because I don't know if they are going to be moth's anywhere I go.
I have a fear of horses and Ocean animals (except for killer whale).
i have a horrible fear of deer heads and stuffed animals. no not the stuffed animals little kids play with, the ones that people kill. idk why tho /":

i am afraid of cockroaches or anything else like that. when we go abroad there is always cockroaches in our flat. somtimes there dead but usually there alive. i really hate them!!!!!i also hate grasshoppers and spiders.id run a mile if i saw a spider or a grasshopper or just scream the place down.
i'm very very afraid of worms.i'd scream if somebody said the word!i would not let my skin touch any area which a worm has been to.i would stay in a room if i saw a worm for fear of it coming into contact with my skin.i would stare at objects which look like worms to make sure it isn't and even if it isn't i would think that it was moving.even if it wasn't.i can't look at vdeo's showing worms or pics of 'em.
I do not fear what I am. We as humans are far more barbaric than any animal.
What is it about snakes ? Is it the way they move or is it the fact that some are poisonous. I have done my best not to pass down my fear to my children. I promise you, I did not let on that I was afraid. I never allowed a snake to keep me from doing what I had to do in the yard etc. Still, I have a daughter who is much more afraid of snakes than I. To see a snake almost cripples her. Maybe it is hereditary ?
I am fearful of snakes to the point that I have a recurring dream of killing them.
Today I met a woman in church who had a phobia of lizzard. I discovered it as I turned to shake her hand and she frooze. She later explained that she was afraid of lizzards. I was wearing a gold and diamond lizzard brooch. Maybe I should have aploggized, but I was taken aback by that...
I knew a librarian who was so afraid of snakes she could not walk down the aisle that held books about snakes - wow! So what you mentioned is so very true.
