Quotes From Dr Jose Rizal
78Through Dr. Jose Rizal's literary works, he opened the minds of the Filipino people to fight for their rights in their own country. His two most famous novels with highly nationalistic and revolutionary ideas are Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, two novel exposing the arrogance and despotism of the Spanish clergy. These two novels provoked the animosity of those in power and these literary works led himself into trouble with the Spanish officials. He was imprisoned at Fort Santiago from July 6-15, 1892 then exiled to Dapitan until 1896.
During his exile, the rebellion by the militant secret society Katipunan had become a full blown revolution and his enemies lost no time in pressing him down. They were able to enlist witnesses that linked him with these revolts and he was again locked up in Fort Santiago on November 3, 1896. He was convicted of rebellion, sedition and of forming illegal associations. In his prison cell he wrote a poem now known as Mi Ultimo Adios, a masterpiece, expressing not only his love for his country but also that of countrymen.
Here is a collection of some of Jose Rizal quotations taken from the letters, novel, articles and poems.

"I die just when I see the dawn break,
Through the gloom of night, to herald the day;
And if color is lacking my blood thou shalt take,
Pour'd out at need for thy dear sake,
To dye with its crimson the waking ray".

i admired of his undying love of our country,,he fought to the spaniards with no fear and doubdt...not using weapons but through his writings
I was thinking, "What Would Life Be Like Without Dr. Jose Rizal.Because of him we are saved from the unkind and selfish spaniards.Thank you!
I believe that it was Dr. Jose Rizal's wish that we be free from the clutches of tyranny, that our motherland would grow to its full potential. We have been blessed to have heroes like Rizal, Jaena, Bonifacio, Mabini etc. as models to look up to, however I pray that we as a filipino people would be inspired by the love they showed to our motherland, through their words, their paintings, their actions, and ultimately their lives. Let us begin with ourselves. Mabuhay ang Filipino! Nawa'y patuloy ntn isapuso ang adhikain na ipinaglaban ng ating mga bayani at taas noong isabuhay natin ito.
Rizal is a very intelligent man no one knows he can do a lot of things when he was alive!
very nice sayings of you Rizal. i salute you!
the man of honor; the man of character; the man of nobility; the filipinos hero... am so proud and honor to teach jose rizal as a subject
dr. rizal indeed, both an extraordinary man and an ordinary man. am very proud to be a Filipino.
I am currently in the Philippines with my girlfriend, she took me to Fort Santiago where I was quite bored until I started to read the quotes of this enlightened man and was captivated. Few people have ever had such a grasp on their own innate freedom. You politicians who use his name are not fit to speak the words as most of you have become the very tyrants and oppressors he spoke of, but even worse you oppress your own people. mabuhay the memory of such a great man
jose rizal do everything to protect the phillipines
good job hub you have answered my questions;did my request to see many sayings in one page
hope to see more from you!
nice hub, hope you can do more
jose rizal have great novels
He is a great Hero of all. He just not use any sword to defeat the Spaniards but He use His Knowledge to get ou Freedom and realize to all Filipino that We are worth Dying for.
Dr. Jose Rizal is truly a great and fantastic man... his not comparable to any famous man who is well known all over the world... he is a one of a kind...
Jose Rizal was really a great man.. He was given by God with great wisdom and so many talents... And he used it for good... He was humble and not proud...
Everytime I remember how Rizal lived and died for his country I deligthfully realized how beautiful this land is and most worthy to live and die for.
Rizal's example makes everyone of us feel proudest not just being Filipino or Asian but most importantly being a human being. He serves the most inspiration to many and will always be a guiding force to reckon with.
I would tell my children and the next generation about this "great malay" who unconditionally sacrificed himself for love of country and people.
I am proud to live and die as a Filipino.

Ever since I love Jose Rizal. His love for the country is genuine and I knew that he took all the pain and sacrifices for his love for this country. I just hope that all Filipinos realize all the pain that heros endured just to free this country. What ever we are enjoying right now is what our heros like Jose Rizal died for. www.ca2020.net
his if not perfect, close to it...
he had suffered a lot for his fatherland...
he had mastered his intellect over his heart...
i wish i could be like him, taming own's impulses...
His quotes provoke truly heartfelt nationalism. Philippine's national hero!
Thanks for the info. This will help me much in acquiring my Filipino heritage merit badge.
