I would ike to introduce you to some of my favourite Filipino recipes, which I can proudly say that I can cook. You can also read my article about the Filipino cuisine here.

Filipino Recipes - Main Dish

  • Chicken Pork Adobo

    Adobo is popularly regarded as the Filipino national dish.

  • Embutido

    A traditional Filipino style meatloaf, wrapped in an aluminum foil and steamed. This recipe needs many ingredients and preparation time but once it is prepared and cooked you can freeze it and a perfect dish for unexpected guests.

Salad Recipe

  • Salted Eggs ad Tomato Salad- This salad is very simple and easy to make. Salted eggs and tomato salad is a the traditional accompaniment for for Tinapa (Smoked Fish), a perfect matchfor grilled pork, or any fried or grilled fish.

Filipino Sweets / Beverages

  • How to make polvoron/pulboron - Polvoron is a powdered milk candy, made of flour, sugar butter and powdered milk The flour is toasted, all the ingredients are mixed and shaped into round or oval-shaped molds.
  • How to make Leche Flan - Cooking instruction on on how to make Leche flan (Filipino custard)which is a favourite and popular dessert in the Philippines. Leche flan is similar to a cream caramel. It is sweet and rich and a must during Christmas, New Year and fiestas.

This looks masarap.

My lovely wife is from the Philippines, and this old farm boy from southern Illinois had to learn to eat a lot of strange food that I had never dreamed existed. Some of it I don't even want to think about. :)
