MM Del Rosario,
Oh my gosh, I love this drink! I have been looking for a simple recipe to make it.
Thank you for sharing!
I had an overripe melon sitting on my counter and I remembered this cantaloupe drink my dad used to make. Alas, the melon-scraper-thingee is at home so I used a fork. Not as pretty but tastes just as good.
Finally! I'm sooo happy to have found this recipe (as well); there was a united festival about 2 or 3 years ago in Ottawa and I remembered trying it and since then, I've been trying to figure out how to make it! Just thinking about it I can still taste in my mouth, how happy I am to actually be able to taste it now instead of just imagining it =D yay!!!
I am so glad to have found this recipe! They were selling this at the SF Pride Festival and since then have scrapped to find the recipe. Yay!!!
I have a fresh melon sitting on my counter right now!!! I am making this tomorrow!!!! Thanks for the fabulous idea!
cheap alternative to scraper...
A fork works just as well.
Thanks for the article - Brings back memories ... anyone have any suggestions re where to buy a melon scaper in Sydney (Australia)??
When making this as a child, we used to put the seeds and some of the softer innards removed from the melon (Step 1 above) in a hand-held sieve / strainer with ice. Then pour the water / juice thru the sieve a few times to extract as much juice and flavour as possible .. enhances the flavour a lot from memory!
Hi everyone, if you are interested in buying melon scrapper, check Marco's ebay ---it is just 3.50 ....
I have a melon scrapper for sale at Ebay.
Thanks for the info, mm. I just happen to have a large Asian supermarket up the road. Next trip there, I'll look around for the scraper.
Hi Sally,
I bought the scraper at the Asian Food Store.
I adore cantaloupe, and this recipe sounds outrageously delicious!
Can you be more specific about the scraper...what does it look like? Where would I get one?
